Grades 10–12

In the FET Phase, Grade 10–12 learners are no longer seen as being home educated but as distance education learners. They have developed sufficient self-management skills to take responsibility for their learning journey (with supervision from the parents, of course).

GRADES 1012

Impaq’s CAPS-aligned lesson material prepares learners for the final NSC examination at the end of Grade 12. In the FET Phase, learners must complete seven subjects, of which four are compulsory, and three are electives. The four compulsory subjects in Grades 1012 include:

  • At least one Home Language (English or Afrikaans)
  • Another language at either Home
  • Language or First Additional Language level (English, Afrikaans or isiZulu)
  • Life Orientation
  • Mathematics OR Mathematical Literacy

Learners can choose three elective subjects from the list below

What do I need to register?

Grades 1012

  • A valid copy of the learner’s South African birth certificate/identity document or South African study permit.
  • A computer or laptop with internet access and a reliable email address.
  • A successful final report on the CAPS curriculum from the previous year. Please refer to the Critical Enrolment Information and Subject Requirements before registering.

Assessments

Grades 1012

Learners in the FET Phase complete tasks, tests, and examinations that form an integral part of their annual assessment. Grade 1012 learners will require Impaq-approved invigilators to oversee all tests and examinations in the FET Phase, apart from the final Grade 12 NSC examination (administrated by the assessment body, SACAI). Refer to the FAQs for more details.
